Why did God ask Moses to make the tent of meeting? We should not confuse “the tent of meeting” (located outside the camp of Israel) with the Tabernacle, which was built later and placed in the center of the camp. We do not know how often Moses consulted with God in the tent of meeting. However, we know for certain that Moses' encounters with God led to a close friendship between them. "The Lord spoke with Moses face to face, as one speaks with a friend" (Exodus 33:11). A friend is someone whose opinion we can seek and with whom we can speak openly about almost anything, trusting that they will never reveal the content of our conversation to others. Friendship is one of the greatest blessings we can enjoy from someone and bestow upon others. The story of Moses, recorded in Exodus 19-34, is very instructive about how God transforms our lives. How did God build a relationship with Moses, that exceptional leader? A study of Moses' life shows how he grew in his knowledge of God's power, love, and character. This is a crucial component of a relationship with the Lord. Moses was used mightily by God even before he arrived at Mount Sinai, even as he was being prepared for his future special leadership role. In the land of Midian, while tending sheep, God inspired him to write two books: Job and Genesis. Then, in the dramatic event of the burning bush, he was called by God to lead Israel out of Egypt. He witnessed the defeat of the Egyptian gods and Pharaoh's mighty army at the Red Sea. He watched for many weeks as God led Israel from Egypt to Mount Sinai. After the experience that resulted in the shining of his face, Moses led Israel for another 39 years to the borders of the Promised Land. The Bible affirms that Moses was a faithful servant of God (Deut. 34:5; Josh. 1:1), an inextinguishable beacon in the darkness, a model prophet by whose light all others were to be measured (Deut. 18:15, 18). He was an agent of change, even though the people did not always follow his directions and words. When they did, they prospered. The remarkable story of Moses shows us what God can do when we allow Him to transform us. What were some defining moments in your experience with God when you recognized how powerfully He worked in your life? ==================== SABBATH SCHOOL LESSON THIRD QUARTER 2025 Narrated by: Eddie Rodriguez From: Guatemala, Guatemala ==================== || www.drministries.org || ====================
