God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla, also called Valhalla is a free DLC pack for God of War Ragnarök. It was released on December 12,2023. In God of War Ragnarök, Valhalla is an important part of the Norse mythology that the game draws from, but it doesn't play a direct role in the story. Valhalla, as most people know, is the grand hall in Asgard where warriors who die in battle are chosen by the Valkyries to dwell, led by Odin. These warriors, known as the einherjar, are prepared for the final battle of Ragnarök. While Valhalla isn't a major location you directly explore in Ragnarök, the game heavily incorporates themes of Norse mythology and the looming Ragnarök event (the apocalyptic battle that brings about the end of the world). As players, we do visit Asgard, which is one of the key realms in the game. Many of the characters tied to Valhalla, like Odin, Thor, and others, play central roles in the story, especially in the context of the war brewing between the gods and the giants. After the events of Ragnarök, Kratos sees a path for himself he never thought possible, bringing him to the shores of Valhalla.
