Makhandi Halwa Recipe – A Rich & Flavorful Dessert Indulge in the rich and aromatic taste of Makhandi Halwa, a traditional dessert loved for its nutty flavors and melt-in-your-mouth texture. Made with roasted semolina, caramelized sugar, and an assortment of dry fruits, this warm and comforting halwa is perfect for any occasion! Ingredients: 1/2 cup semolina (sooji) 1/2 cup warm milk 2 tsp ghee 5-6 cashews 5-6 pistachios 12-13 raisins 8-9 almonds (soaked & peeled) 4-5 pieces dried coconut 1/2 cup ghee 2 green cardamoms 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk Method : In a bowl, mix semolina with warm milk, cover, and let it soak for 20 minutes. In a frying pan, melt 2 tsp ghee, add dried coconut, almonds, raisins, cashews, and pistachios. Fry on medium flame for 1-2 minutes until golden. Set aside. In a wok, melt ghee, add green cardamoms, and let them release their aroma. Add sugar and cook on low flame until it caramelizes and turns golden brown (10-12 minutes). Pour in the soaked semolina mixture, stirring continuously. Cook on medium flame until the milk evaporates. Continue cooking for 18-20 minutes until the halwa turns deep brown and the ghee separates.
