To abide means to remain – to stay in the comforting presence of God, to persist in prayer, and to continue walking in a spirit of faith. Abiding is a commitment to walking by faith, not by sight, and to persisting in God's presence. The scripture says, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." Being under God's shadow signifies being covered and protected by the Almighty. Consider this: what can reach you, bother you, worry you, or plague you when you are under God's shadow? It's a place of safety, security, and protection. So, let me encourage you to run to God, run to Jesus. In His shadow alone, you find safety, security, and preservation. Before we embark on prayer, take a moment with me to delve into the comforting words of God. Psalm 91, verses 1-16, beautifully express the assurance of dwelling in God's protective embrace: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.' Surely, He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings, you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked, Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands, they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Because he has set his love upon Me, Therefore, I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life, I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation." Dear friend, When life's troubles bring the intense heat of the fire, my advice to you is simple: run to God. Get on your knees, stay in prayer, and continue to dwell in His presence, remaining under the shadow of His might. Heavenly Father, I lift up everyone under the sound of my voice. May they be drawn to your presence, to your secret place. I pray for every man and woman of God listening, that they may be covered, protected, secured, defended, shielded, and hidden by your shadow. In the name of Jesus, I declare that you are hidden from the sight of evil, and the devil will not be able to lay a hand on you or your family because you are protected by God Almighty. May you find the Lord to be your safe place, your peaceful sanctuary. May God's presence reside in your home, in your hearts, and minds. I pray for every son and daughter of God who agrees with me right now. In the midst of life's endless storms, may the good Lord grant you supernatural strength. Even if the enemy tries to steal your joy, may he fail and be crushed by the angel of the Lord who encamps around all those who fear Him. I pray for a serene calmness to settle in your mind, bringing peaceful thoughts. May an overwhelming peace and divine joy occupy the center of your heart.
