#30 Fatepur Sikri - How to draw Islamic Geometry - زخارف اسلامية هندسية

an updated construction of the “kite and square” pattern. It’s far more universal than many other Islamic Geometric Patterns. The mathematics of this particular version’s proportions are rather appealing: The square's side length is 1 unit, the kite's side lengths are 1 and 2 units, the tile's side length is 3 units and every single line making up the pattern, when fully drawn, is 4 units. How cool is that eh! There are a few other kite and square pattern constructions and proportions, all beautiful, but this version optimises these particular edge length relationships which also seemed to against the pattern in situ at the Agra Fort and the Fatepur Sikri complex, it therefore became THE ONE! Now the other versions were pretty extensively explored and discussed when I posted this originally.
