Simple Encaustic: Black and White Xerox Transfers
Xerox transferring is so simple. Simply take an image and make a xerox copy of it. The higher the contrast and less middle value the better the image will transfer. Put your image facedown and then use a wooden or metal spoon and burnish it onto a slightly heated bee's wax very smooth surface. Put parchment paper on top so not to gouge the wax and burnish some more. Next, lightly sand and saturate the image with water. Use your fingers or a sponge to remove the paper. The ink will stick to the wax. Get as much paper off as possible. Now lightly fuse the image with a heat gun then put more wax on and fuse again. Note: Pure bee's wax is a better surface then the 9:2 traditional bee's wax mixed with damar crystals. Subscribe to Simply Sisavanh for more simple art videos.
