Kayo Fox 70 Chinese ATV Quad - Brake switches & Diagnosing no-crank - Before you tear it apart
Kayo Fox 70 Chinese ATV/Quad. Before tearing it apart try these: Check the micro switches under the brake levers. If these have failed, the quad won't crank. There are two 15 amp fuses on solenoid, check. Unplug red cap on solenoid, there are 4 pins. Connect ground to pin where yellow/red wire connects. Connect 12V to pin where green/yellow wire connects. Solenoid should click. Connect multimeter to both large posts, set to continuity and perform test above and multimeter should change from 1 to 0 when ground and power are applied. To test starter, bridge large posts on solenoid with screwdriver. Remote kill might be locked and remote isn't unlocking. Unplug box under seat (4 wire+antenna). If all tests above worked and still won't start, then take apart start/light switch. Unscrew the small screws on bottom half and remove metal parts covering start button. There should be a green wire and a yellow/red wire connected to start button. Push a screwdriver into spring so it touches spring and both posts (do this while key is on, lanyard on, brake lever locked back, remote unlocked). If that works, then switch has bad contact with spring. Clean contacts and spring.
