Baptism - October 23, 2021
Baptism is one of the two ordinances prescribed by our Lord Jesus Christ as a symbol of the invisible work of salvation through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. When we are baptized or watch another do so, we both remember that Christ was crucified and raised from the dead and we also, vividly identify with Him in His death, burial and resurrection, having died to the old self to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3-4). It is both the duty and delight for believers to walk in obedience to Christ daily, including obedience to His call to baptism. As we reflect on the baptism we witnessed this past weekend may it stir us to pause and remember, to celebrate and to believe.
