Federica Gregoratto: Polyamory and True Love | Sternstunde Philosophie | SRF Kultur

We find freedom in love; true love requires transformation and emancipation. This is difficult in romantic love. Because it is exclusive. Love multiplies when it is shared. This is what people who have multiple romantic relationships claim. But is it true? How free can and should love be? And when does it blind us? Yves Bossart speaks with philosopher Federica Gregoratto about the liberating power of love. 🔔 Subscribe to SRF Kultur Sternstunden now on YouTube 👉 https://www.youtube.com/srfkulturster... Love solves the fundamental problem of human existence because it frees us from loneliness. This is what psychoanalyst Erich Fromm claimed in his book "The Art of Loving." But is this true? And if so, how can we prevent a relationship from becoming a prison? Philosopher Federica Gregoratto believes that true love is a process of emancipation and transformation. Love can free us: from social constraints as well as from false self-images. But when does love blind us? And how are dating apps, MeToo, and the porn industry changing our love lives? Yves Bossart discusses this with philosopher Federica Gregoratto. She works at the University of St. Gallen and is writing her habilitation thesis on the topic of love.
