Dal Makhni is a rich, creamy, and flavorful lentil dish originating from the Punjab region of India. It's now a common feature in Indian restaurants globally. #chefharpalsingh #namakshamak #cooking #recipe #indianfood #dal #makhni #restaurant Ingredients Quantity Oil 2 tbsp Caraway seeds 1 tsp Garlic chopped 1 tbsp Tomato puree 500 ml Red chilli powder 1½ tbsp Whole black lentils boiled 500 gram Ginger juliennes 1 inch Green chilli slit 4-5 no Butter 200 gram Water 1 cup Fresh cream 1 cup Kasuri methi 1 tsp Garam masala 1 tsp Ghee 1 tbsp Ginger juliennes for garnish Method :- 1. Place a kadai on medium flame and heat oil. Add caraway seeds and chopped garlic sauté until they turn golden brown. 2. Add the tomato puree and cook until the oil starts to separate from the masala. 3. Add red chilli powder and cooked lentil mix well. 4. Now add ginger juliennes, green chilli slit, butter and water mix well. 5. Cover with the lid and simmer the dal on low heat for at least 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 6. Add cream, kasuri methi and garam masala cook for another 10 minutes. 7. Turn off the flame and cover with the lid. Set aside. 8. In a serving bowl add ghee and side out dal makhani on top. 9. Now garnish with ginger juliennes and serve hot enjoy with naan or steamed rice.
