One of my favorite attributes of God (okay, like everything about God is my favorite) is the way He "makes everything beautiful in His time." (Ecc 3:11). Things that have been painful, difficult, hard, or maybe just emotionally hurtful - in essence, the 'bitter' - can be, and will be, made beautiful - in time. In God's time. That may not look like our time and it may be Heaven before everything is made beautiful but the point is, it will be made into the 'sweet'. One of the most comforting things during a hard season (although don't tell someone this if they're going through deep emotional pain as it comes across rather callous) is 'this season is not going to last forever. The winter will one day turn into spring.' If you are going through a difficult season, I want to encourage you that one day, you will actually be able to look back on this and say 'God was there - He was faithful to me in that time - He has turned the bitter into sweet in my life."
