Sanskrit text along with transliteration is provided Some of the Sanskrit rules are optional. In order to preserve the Sanskrit language, we have made use of these Sanskrit rules wherever applicable. Or else the language may become extinct. Gita verses can be chanted using various tunes. Here, we have made use of the tune which is commonly accepted by most of the Vedanta Acharyas. Thus, it is authentic. Each verse is divided in 4 padas (quarters). The first line of the 8th, 9th and the 14th verses needs to be chanted continuously without a break. Because they are compound words. Breaking of the compound words, while chanting, will lose the whole meaning of the verse. This chapter talks about three types of Shraddha (Faith) i.e. satvik, rajasik and tamasik. It also talks about Ahara (food), Yajna (sacrifice), Daanam (charity), Tapas (austerity). Chapter 17 is very important from the sadhana point of view or for spiritual growth.
