Some love it and praise the new direction for the band. Others may say they lost the plot. I think at the end of the day, I'm in the camp of the former. This album isn't as aggressive and definitely less layered in terms of production. Instead, it's LP refining their sound and taking it to different places while still being unapologetically themselves. I got the feeling they were betting on themselves on this project, and with that came more depth out of the lyrics and forays into other genres (ie, punk). Oh, and I can unequivocally say that I no longer "hate" Mike Shinoda. Tell me what you think!
