Seizures are bursts of electrical activity in the brain that temporarily affect how it works. They can cause a wide range of symptoms. Epilepsy can start at any age, but usually starts either in childhood or in people over 60. In this lecture, Dr Najeeb gives a description about epilepsy and how to define it. He then also classifies epilepsy into simple (partial) and complex epilepsy and tells us the differences in them. The relationships of various brain structures with epilepsy are also given in details. The history questions for a suspected patient of epilepsy are also talked about and furthermore, pseudo-seizures are also discussed. The difference between a true seizure and a pseudo-seizure are also told. Towards the end of the lecture, Dr Najeeb also discusses about various drugs used in different types of epilepsies, also highlighting about status epilepticus and its management, along with the various side effects of phenytoin and other anti epileptics. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join this channel to get access to perks: Sign up now on our website at https://members.drnajeeblectures.com/...    / @doctornajeeb  Follow us on Facebook :-   / drnajeeb  Follow us on Instagram :-   / drnajeeblectures Â
