😎 Grain Shaded Gradient Images 😎 This effect is absolute 🔥 and so simple to achieve that I had to share it with you! Here’s how to nail it: 👉 Document Size: Set your doc size to at least 2500px by 2500px for that crispy diffusion. 👉 Reticulation Layer: Make sure the foreground is white—the effect hits completely differently otherwise! 👉 Blending the Subject: Mask out your subject to blend seamlessly into the grain. Try a movie poster composition and apply this effect after—it looks soooo good! 🎥 👉 Camera Raw Filter: Use the Camera Raw filter on your main subject to smooth transitions and enhance the overall look with de noise . 👉 Gradient Tips: Make gradients from dark to light and make them balanced, but experiment as the you can make wild colour combos! 👉 Bigger Grunge: Enlarge the reticulation layer for a more diffused, grungy look. 👉 Quick Workflow: Once you’ve set this up, you don’t need to recreate the effect every time—just swap in a new image and hey presto! You’re ready to go! This works so well because the gradient maps to the posterize colour levels and therefore transitions from highlights to shades with a wonderful diffused gradients 🧙‍♂️ I found this stellar technique on YouTube from Texture Labs—their long-form content is brilliant! I condensed it into 40 seconds, but their 8-minute plus version is an absolute must-watch they also have a set of free gradient maps to use too please go check em out if you liked this tutorial 🙏 Have fun experimenting with this one—it’s a game-changer! 🎨✨.
