King Janaka of Mithila longed for a child. One day, while plowing a sacred field as part of a ritual, his plow struck something hard. Curious, he dug deeper and discovered a golden casket. As he opened it, a radiant baby girl lay inside, glowing with divine light. A celestial voice echoed, “O King, this child is a blessing from Bhoomidevi, the Earth Goddess.
