Slice of Brain, anyone?? 🫖🍰💀 LOVE how freaky this red velvet cake is!!! #halloweenbaking #halloween

I love how freaky this brain cake looks!!! Deceptively easy to make and such a special cake for halloween 🫖💀🍰🧠 This is a red velvet cake recipe with a cream cheese frosting, and a strawberry coulis. The cake is blimmin delicious, really bright and refreshing with the fresh strawberry coulis I used a few different recipes to create this. Heres my hints and tips I'm a beginner and I dont think anything needs to look neat and perfect. But with Halloween you can get away with things looking even more gnarly and messy, so it's the best time to just go for it! Red Velvet Cake recipe I used: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/red... I made two large cakes and stacked them so I could get the height for the brain I chilled the cake (to make it easier to carve), did a thin layer of cream cheese frosting, chilled again, and carved the shape of the brain (pure guess work!), and popped that back in the fridge before piping on the frosting Cream Cheese Frosting Make sure you chill the frosting well and thicken it up enough so you can pipe it and it will hold the definition of the squiggles I piped random squiggles all over the brain. The only thing I made sure to do was to pipe one side, and then the other side separately, to represent the two sides of the brain Strawberry Coulis https://www.chefnotrequired.com/straw... I dont think mine was quite red enough, so I'd add some red food colouring to your preference Chill the cake well after piping the frosting, then I used a soft pastry brush to apply the coulis Enjoy watching some of your family and friends refuse to eat this one because they're freaked out!! That's when you know your cake looks cool! ❤️🧠❤️
