NYC DOE employee, Bronx man charged with murder in birthday shooting | News 12
The NYPD says a Department of Education employee and a Bronx man have been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a Bronx father and the wounding of his brother in Kingsbridge. The DOE employee, Naya Brown, and Pernell Warren are accused of killing 44‑year‑old Keon Gill on Jan. 25 at West 242nd Street and Broadway. Gill’s family told News 12 he had been celebrating his birthday at a bar the night of his death with his brother, Luis, and a few friends. Police say shots were fired when the party ended, fatally striking Gill in the chest and injuring his 35‑year‑old brother. Gill is survived by his four children. Sources say Brown works as a community coordinator and has been with the DOE since 2022. » Subscribe to News 12: https://bit.ly/4dyeWzd About News 12: News 12 is the exclusive 24-hour local news service dedicated to bringing you the best local news and information about your neighborhoods.
