From now until the big day I’ll be showing you a little of everything from creative flavorful twists to timeless classics, this series is all about celebrating food, family, and togetherness. Let’s make this year the most FLAVORFUL yet—share with a friend & stay tuned! 🚨Ingredients🚨 Water to cover 2/3 Cup Salt 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Tsp Whole Peppercorns 1 Cup White Wine 1 Lemon 1 Orange 4 Crushed Garlic cloves 6 Bay Leaves 1/2 Tsp Sage 1/2 Tsp Tarragon (dried) 1/2 Tsp Thyme (dried) 1/2 Tsp Rosemary (dried) 3 Star Anise pods 💎Notes💎 🦃Why Should I brine the turkey? ✨Tenderness - The salt in the brine breaks down some of the turkey’s muscle proteins, which makes the meat more tender ✨Flavor - The turkey absorbs the brine’s water and salt, which adds flavor. You can also add other ingredients to the brine like this recipe to increase the flavor of the meat. ✨Juiciness - The turkey retains more moisture while cooking because the dissolved proteins make the muscle fibers contract less. This means the turkey loses less moisture while roasting! 🦃How long should I brine the turkey? I recommend brining anywhere from 8-24hrs. A good idea is to brine at night and remove in the morning. Also, yes you can OVER-BRINE your turkey! Do not go past 24hrs. 🦃Should I rinse it after the brine? NO!! Please do not rinse the turkey, it will do nothing but spread germs in your kitchen. Simply pat dry.
