The Schadau Park is a local recreation area, designed as an English garden. Near the lake by the Aare you can enjoy the most beautiful panorama of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. In our famous Schadau-park, you will find more than 150 different trees. Some of them are more than 200 years old. There are interactive information at every tree and of course there is also a map for your tour in our English garden. Only a few steps away from the castle, you will find the «Thun Panorama» with the oldest circular painting of the world by the artist Marquart Wocher, 38 metres in length Within a 2-minutes’ walking distance you will find the solar ship on the banks of the Aare.
