Rockman X8 - All Bosses (No Damage, Hard)

Rockman X8 - All Bosses (No Damage, Hard)

This was done on the JP version of the game, so I'll be using JP names for bosses and title. Crabs-Y (Midboss 1): Easy. Crabs-Y (Midboss 2): This one is actually a bit challenging if you don't use the double attack. Crabs-Y: And then there's the easiest intro boss in the series. It introduces boss guarding. Gigabolt Dokragen: And here we go. Giant healthbars, overdrive activating on 50% health, early second phase, this game's hard mode is merciless. Well, the main problem with this fight is that, after the overdrive, the jellyfish stick around and clutter the screen: Zero can easily deal with them, especially if he has the weakness, but for armorless X, this battle requires a lot of luck, especially since boss i-frames are SO long in this game. Gravitate Ant-Onion: This fight isn't too bad. His Squeeze Bomb absorbs your shots very often, but it's reset after he does the overdrive attack. Earthrock Torirovich: This guy can be annoying. His Crystal Walls have odd collision, and the shots are the worst part: combined with multiple walls, those can just clutter the screen so much it becomes hard to dodge, let alone even hit the guy. Thankfully, overdrive resets the arena. Darkneid Kamakil: His Shadow Runner can be annoying, and the way he moves around feels off (though that applies to many bosses in this game) which can make it hard to be careful, but his overdrive is easy and he's pretty predictable. Optic Sunfloward: Depending on which attacks he decides to use, this fight can range from decently easy to pretty difficult. The green lasers in particular are rather hard to dodge. The animations for changing layout can get repetitive. Burn Kokekokker: I've decided to just use Black Zero in the last phase. He can have up to two layers of guarding and it doesn't help just how slow X's charge time is in this game, meaning even breaking his guard isn't easy. This, coupled with the really long i-frames and the fact that he has an overdrive that makes the arena even smaller doesn't help. Bamboo Pandemonium: His size is actually pretty medium compared to the playable characters and his attacks aren't too threatening to deal with. However, his Green Spinners can interfere with other attacks and his overdrive attack is larger in size than it seems. Ice-Snow Yetinger: The overdrive snowflakes tend to be unpredictable and take a long time to destroy. In addition, his ramming attack can come from offscreen at high speeds with no warning and both of his special attacks can be tough to deal with. VAVA Mk-V (Midbosses): Those fights don't differ too much between eachother beyond the arena itself and are pretty easy. Just keep in mind that just like later fights, he can just zoom at your position without issue. VAVA Mk-V (Jakob): Starting with phase 2, his shots also have a homing variation, but I didn't get to show those. After overdrive, he uses Flight Shot λ a lot and then spawns Blindholders: after that, he can use Fire Stream too (for me, he did): this is the hardest part of the fight. VAVA Mk-V (Noah's Park): This is an even harder fight. He uses Flight Shot λ a lot, and that can interfere with other attacks and also blend in as all shots look the same, not to mention the stage visuals blocking the view. Also, no orange field on EXF? Odd. Copy Sigma: Mostly an easy fight, until the overdrive. Sigma using the upper/lower saber attack seems to depend on your position? You will have to dodge two or three of those, and with all the screen clutter and you being stuck on a wall, those sudden saber attacks are tough. Failed the EXF for obvious reasons, good luck trying to reach this guy. Do not drop down when you land the last hit, the fire stays for a short bit of his defeat animation. VAVA Mk-V (Sigma Palace): For some reason, this fight is far easier than the previous two and he doesn't use his harder attacks here. As long as you know how to misdirect his homing shots, you will be fine. Sigma: This is probably the most fun fight. Despite the giant healthbar, it's not too repetitive, though the interruption cutscene early on into the fight is annoying. It's best to just use chargeshots as non-charged shots don't work on him too well and he guards a lot anyway. If he uses the spinning rings, you should probably just use Zero instead of trying to dodge them with X. Lumine (1st): This is a pretty basic fight. It's best to finish him off before he uses Pandemonium's overdrive: it's very difficult to dodge. While I haven't been able to show it, his version of Dokragen's overdrive is easy and leaves him very open to charge shots. He also just zoomed at the wall during my successful attempt, which is... weird. Lumine (2nd): This fight is fun. Most of the attacks are consistently dodgeable, though a bit tedious. The one attack that stands out is Bel Canto: I have no idea how to dodge it consistently and it being half-transparent makes it harder to see. Paradise Lost is simple, aside from me screwing up the EXF :(
