Rotational Moment of Inertia of a Rod About It's End
Calculate the moment of inertia of a long thin rod of mass M and length L when the rod is free to rotate around an axis which passes through its end. First develop a function for the mass per unit length of the rod then a function for the mass of an infinitely thin slice of the rod. After that find the rotational moment of inertia of that slice. Lastly integrate to find the rotational moment of inertia of the entire rod. The limits of the definite integral are simply the ends of the rod. This problem commonly comes up in introductory calculus based physics and AP Physics C Mechanics. I am in no way affiliated with the music creator but here is the music info.
