The F-14 can be surprisingly good at slow speed, however it's not as easy as the fly-by-wire planes of DCS. This thing is analog and you can feel it! It's basically a warbird on steroid :) That's why we love it! They will probably stay stuck lowered). I’m doing this only in Example 1. Full AB after you initiate the first turn Use VSL HI/LOW, or PAL Press Cage/Seam when you get the tone change from the Sidewinder. The missile will stay uncaged for 4.5 seconds - you can see the green led indicator in the ACM panel. Fire when hear the high pitch. This allows for a shot tracking the target up to 40 degrees. In the video I'm uncaging the AIM-9 also before getting the tone; this makes no sense in a dogfight due to the poor search capabilities of the seeker without a WCS guidance (will not increase the chances of getting a lock on it's own). Other things I haven't done in the video but can help: On the left side console, in the AFCS, you can turn off “Roll Stability Augmentation”. I’ve got mixed result by doing this, however it should give you more control when you are very slow and the aircraft is not responding properly to your roll input.
