Holy Bible 1 THESSALONIANS Full Contemporary English Version (CEV) With Text

First Thessalonians was written by the Apostle Paul, likely with the help of Silas and Timothy, as indicated in the opening of the letter. It is considered one of Paul’s earliest writings, dated around A.D. 50–51, during his second missionary journey. He wrote it from Corinth after having established the church in Thessalonica but being forced to leave due to persecution. Concerned about the young believers, Paul sent Timothy to check on them, and upon receiving a positive report, he wrote this letter to encourage them in their faith, address concerns about persecution, and clarify questions regarding the return of Christ. The letter expresses Paul’s deep affection for the Thessalonian church, commends their steadfastness despite opposition, and offers instruction on living a holy life while awaiting Christ’s second coming.
