The word Waqiah stands for the incident or event. Surah al Waqiah was revealed in Mecca (see in Meccan surah’s), specifically around 7 (seven) years before the Hegira in (622), the migration of Muhammad to Medina from Mecca. The total number of verses in this surat al waqiah are 96. It mainly discusses the all about afterlife according to Islam, and the different fates people definitely will face in it. Benefits of Surah Al Waqiah It is said by Holy Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) that a person who recites Surah Waqiah will not experience poverty. The person who keeps reciting Surah Al Waqiah will have a shining face on the day of Judgement. What is Surah Waqiah good for? Commonly termed the “Surah of Wealth, Surah Waqiah brings abundance and prosperity, while protecting you from poverty. Taking a few minutes out of your day to recite this ensures that you reap the unlimited rewards it brings. The best time to recite the Surah is before sleeping. When should we recite Surah Waqiah? According to the above-mentioned hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) advised the Ummah to recite it every night to thwart poverty. Therefore, the best time to recite the Surah is before sleeping.
