To order Arginext, call Skip Mathewson at 406-381-5351. Dr. Siva Arunasalam of the High Desert Heart Institute tells how to treat hemorrhagic stroke: How can I avoid hemorrhagic stroke? How do you treat hemorrhagic stroke? In a hemorrhagic stroke, you have a bleed in the brain. There are three types of stroke. You can have an embolic stroke where a piece of cholesterol plaque breaks off, goes to the brain and causes a stroke. You can have a thrombotic stroke, where the artery is closed and that causes a stroke. And then you can have a hemorrhagic stroke, a bleed. Usually a hemorrhagic stroke has the worst prognosis. Why? Because the extent of the bleed is going to determine whether you are going to survive or not. Hemorrhagic stroke can initially have only mild symptoms and then you can bleed even further, extending the stroke. You need to find out the cause of the hemorrhagic stroke. If it’s an aneurysm, it needs to be fixed or it needs to be diagnosed before you have a stroke. If you have constant headaches for no clear reason, you need to be tested for aneurysm. If you have high blood pressure, you have a higher risk of stroke. Blood pressure management is important. Those are the things that we can do to prevent hemorrhagic stroke.
