Good morning and welcome to the celebration of the Holy Mass for the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Our readings today invite us to reflect upon how we exercise stewardship in our lives. Both the First Reading and the Gospel, speak of the way we use the gifts that we have been given. The First Reading is an outward condemnation of how those in power abuse their authority and trample on the needs of the poor and needy. They are called to rethink their use of power. In the Gospel, Jesus takes a more introspective look at how we use the gifts we are given. He invites us to examine our conscience and see if we are using all that the Lord has given us for the good of others. We are to remember that all we have is gift and we are stewards of those gifts; not owners. Our Second Reading from 1 Timothy reminds us that no one is outside the love and mercy of our God. We are called to pray for all people . All leaders and those in power need our prayes and intercessions so that they may discern the right course of action in all their endeavors. Lord Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto thine! The Responsorial Psalm is Psalm 113: "Praise the Lord who lifts up the needy."
