Florida man leads troopers on multi-county, high-speed chase
FHP arrested a Tampa man troopers say took off from a traffic stop in Hillsborough County and led a chase that ended in Sumter County on July 30. The driver went north on I-75 into Pasco County before driving into Sumter County on SR-50, according to the highway patrol. During the chase, a PIT maneuver was attempted but was unsuccessful, video shows. Eventually, the driver led troopers into a Pilot Travel Center where he got blocked in and was taken into custody. The Florida Highway Patrol said they arrested Daquann Marquise Stephens, 23, of Tampa. He's accused of fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, felony driving with a license suspended/revoked, possession of marijuana and on a warrant out of Hillsborough County.
