1st Sunday of Advent December 1, 2024 AS WE GATHER While the secular calendar won’t switch to 2025 for another month, the Church Year begins anew today with the season of Advent, a season marked by anticipation and hope, as we await the coming of the Savior. This year, we rejoice to take the Road to the Nativity, reflecting on the road that also leads us to hope, love, joy, and peace. In today’s worship, the focus is on the hope of the ages that finds its alpha and omega, its beginning and end, in Jesus the Savior. So strap on the boots, grab the walking stick, and sling on the backpack as the Lord bids us to make our way to the Christmas crib, and to the salvation God offers in Jesus’ name.
