After two more weeks of intensive negotiations, the European Union’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier, tweeted to the world; very serious divergences remain in level playing field, governance and fisheries. These are essential conditions for any economic partnership. A statement that comes with no surprise to many, but these divergences were not essential conditions in any other trade deal the EU has done with other countries.
