THE RULES OF A HORROR SEQUEL… Scream 2 (1997) Reaction and Commentary (FIRST TIME WATCHING) Happy Spooky Season! We are kicking it off with Scream 2. Last year I watched Scream (1996) for the first time and I've been excited to continue this franchise. I used all my detective skills (that I definitely have) to try and figure out who Ghostface was. This was a wild ride that had me doubting everyone. Scream 2 takes place two years after the original movie. We open with the movie premiere of "Stab" (based on the book by Gale Weathers). It's at the theatre where a new Ghostface killing spree begins. Sidney is at college, still dealing with the aftermath of the events in Scream.
