1992 - 2000 GM OBS Truck SUV REAR Door Window Sweep / Outer Belt Strip Replacement (Chevy & GMC)
In this video we go over how to remove and replace the rear door window sweeps, also known as a belt weatherstrip or dew wipe, common to GMT400 type GM old body style (OBS) trucks such as the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban LT illustrated. This would be the same part for the rear door of a Tahoe, Yukon, Blazer, Escalade, or crew cab trucks of the same time period from Chevy, GMC, Cadillac, or Holden. WARNING: ALL of the aftermarket parts are constructed of much lower quality material than the GM originals. Expect significant shrinkage and/or warpage after even a nominal period in sunlight as a result. I have had better results with garaged vehicles avoiding this outcome due to the inferior plastics used in aftermarket parts than what the genuine GM ones used. Ultimately this repair is better done using NOS, or even good used, genuine GM parts than inferior aftermarket parts.
