Put yourself in the scene: imagine yourself in the synagogue, perhaps your family is with you. See Jesus as he gets up to read from the scripture. He reads a familiar passage from the prophet Isaiah about the promise of the Messiah. Jesus’ mission is clear – to set prisoners free, give sight to the blind, bring good news to the poor. Now think about yourself and the fact that through your baptism, and being a disciple, you too have been given this mission. Consider the ways you are fulfilling this mission and where Christ is inviting you to be more engaged in this work. Ask for His help!
