The ending hour of "The Last of Us Part 1" is quite intense and emotional. Unable to accept this, Joel goes on a rampage through the hospital, killing many of the Fireflies to save Ellie. He eventually finds her in the operating room and takes her away, lying to her later about the Fireflies' intentions. In the final scene, as they approach Tommy's settlement, Ellie confronts Joel, asking him to swear that everything he told her about the Fireflies was true. Joel swears, and Ellie, though visibly doubtful, accepts his word with a simple "Okay." The game ends on this ambiguous note, leaving players to ponder the implications of Joel's actions and the future of their relationship.
