Christmas Eve - Come. Together. You. - 7pm Traditional Service, Chancel Choir and Ken Brown 12.24.24
The angel said to them, “Behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which comes to all people; for there is born to you this day, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:10 The angel is not giving an obligatory birth announcement that Christ is born. It is birth announcement spoken to your soul – to you Christ is born. To you good news of a great joy has come and no this joy isn’t in your hands alone to drop or fumble. This joy is given to the world. Christ’s birth is the most purposeful birth ever. The backdrop for Christ’s birth is Bethlehem and on this glorious Christmas morn, the City of David resembles heaven. Angelic voices sing and in place of the sun arises the Sun of Righteous. “As it is in heaven” is now on earth. The Word is made flesh and God’s nature to be remains unchanged. Come to Bethlehem and see Christ whose birth the angels sing; come adore on bended knee, Christ the Lord, the newborn King. I am grateful that YOU are living proof of the sermon title. YOU arrived here at an invitation from God, “COME.” You are not alone in your longing for purpose. “Together”, we seek meaning as a present of your presence. And yes, “You” matter greatly to God no matter who you are or what you’ve done this year. You deserve to experience a faith community that cares more about you and serving our neighbors than balancing church budgets and fixating on in-person church attendance. Gather with us as we welcome the birth of Jesus through worship, carols, and candle lighting.
