Alarmed by the spread and severity of the COVID-19 outbreak, WHO chief said that coronavirus can be characterised as a ‘pandemic’. 2. Equity benchmark Sensex plummeted over 2,700 points and Nifty gave up the 10,000 level today as worsening rout in world markets, after WHO declared coronavirus a pandemic, flared up fears of a global economic recession. This is the first time since March 26, 2018 when Nifty slipped below the 10,000 mark. 3.
