Does Romans 11 Teach a Future Salvation for Ethnic Israel?
In episode 23, I will be looking at Romans 11 in its exegetical, theological, and historical context to see if it does in fact teach a future salvation for ethnic Israel. Romans 11:25-26 is one of the main Bible verses which is often used to support Christian Zionism and the modern state of Israel, and therefore, we must take a careful look at this text in context. When Paul said, “And so all Israel shall be saved” was he talking about ethnic Jews, a modern nation, or something else? Does God still have promises that are unfulfilled and require Jews to be gathered to the modern state of Israel? Are we to encourage any return to Judaism, the building of a third temple, or any of the ceremonial distinctives of Jewish identity? I will answer all of these questions and more in this podcast. Both Christian Zionism and all ethnic-pride will be defeated by the two-edged sword of the Word of God, which cuts both ways. I hope that you are humbled, edified, blessed, and encouraged as the truth of Jesus Christ is proclaimed. As we shall see in Romans 11:36, all glory belongs to God alone!
