Love at First Bite! When to Harvest Garlic Scapes | Zone 5 Gardening For the first time ever, we are harvesting garlic scapes from the hardneck garlic we got from Keene Garlic / Keene Organics. We planted these garlic in the fall, following the directions listed on the Keene Organics website: https://keeneorganics.com, and based on the current progress, I believe we should be in for a great harvest of garlic in the next month. For now, we get to enjoy garlic scapes for the first time, and there is absolutely not disappointment from us in terms of taste. These garlic scapes are absolutely tasty! They are easy to harvest, and by harvesting the scapes we should ensure that we get a bigger harvest when that time comes. We are in no way experts at growing garlic, but Keene Garlic has helped us out tremendously!
