After "Bull in a China Shop" (Mission #8) and increasing Roman's like and respect, Niko unlocks free taxi rides, even with a wanted level, useful for getting the achievements "Walk Free" and "It'll Cost Ya". However, the service is unavailable after Roman's kidnapping or if his depot is destroyed in "Roman's Sorrow" (Mission #25), but it will return after "Blow Your Cover" (Mission #31). Later, he will buy a new fleet of cabs after "Hostile Negotiation" (Mission #50), but the Deal Ending removes this open permanently. Similarly, hanging out with Roman is locked after "Uncle Vlad" (Mission #13) until "Do You Have Protection?" (Mission #15) and again when he goes missing until "Hostile Negotiation".
