#99 I need to shade my succulents now!

LET'S PLANT! EP 99 - I need to shade my succulents now! Every summer, I go out and build a temporary shade structure for my plants. My threshold is 35°C (about 95°F). If the day temps start reaching my threshold, that's when I start setting up. I remove them after summer when the day temps are consistently lower than 30°C (about 86°F). I normally use shade cloth with 30% UV protection rating. This works really well for my weather and climate in Melbourne, Australia. This might not necessarily be the same where you live. For instance, the other Australian states further up north will need at least 50% or 70% because they get much more heat on average. If you are unsure, start with 50% and adjust up or down as needed. You could combine this with the indicator plants technique that I taught in the previous episode.
