Good morning and welcome to the celebration of the Holy Mass for Wednesday of the 30th Week in Ordinary Time. Our readings today invite us to reflect upon the fact that the Kindom of God is for all of us; no one is excluded. In our reading from Ephesians, we hear about the relationships; parents to children, children to parents and 'masters' to their workers, etc. In all cases what we are to examine is our interaction with one another. Everyone has a role and a responsbility but how do we carry out our taskes? We are reminded to respond to one another with respect, patience and sincerity. It is remembering the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do to you. "O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine". In our Gospel, we are reminded to enter through the narrow gate. In other words, we are to examine our conscience and discover the ways in which we can let go of sin and transform our lives. The Responsorial Psalm is Psalm 145: "The Lord is faithful in all his words."
