Photos courtesy of Thomas Oliver, thank you for your time! Meet Eliza! When she first came in she was very timid, but after she warmed up to the staff here she has shown a whole new dog! She was adopted and then returned due to being protective of her caregiver. She did not bite anybody, but she did get rather vocal and bared her teeth. She loves to be with people, especially children (LOVES THEM!!!) and is full of energy. Eliza really enjoys going outdoors, she walks well on the leash, and even shows signs of potty training. She would make a great walking companion or even a nice farm dog where she can play or work outdoors on a daily basis. Eliza seems very tolerant of people but does not like being jumped on by other dogs so will need a slow introduction to them. She will try to correct the other dog if she does not approve of their behavior.She didn't seem to mind cats. Eliza LOVES toys! She also knows how to sit, speak, and stands up for treats. She is really gentle when taking treats from the hand. If you think you have the time for an energetic senior dog then Eliza is the lady for you! She weighs 51 pounds.
