wisdom teeth removal vlog | what i ate, swelling recovery, pineapple juice, and my experience!

hi everyone! welcome to my first youtube video :) let me know in the comments if you enjoyed the video or have any questions! (wisdom teeth related or not). let me know if you have any other video suggestions. i'll still be living in nyc for the next 2 weeks before i move off to college! see you all next time! here are some extra notes that i forgot to mention/want to emphasize from the video: -brushing teeth and flossing is not fun for the first couple of days. -use ice for the first 20 minutes after your surgery. after 24 hours, apply heat for around 20 minutes at a time if you want to decrease pain/swelling. -the pineapple juice definitely worked somewhat now that i look back on the photos. i heard that drinking up to 64 fl oz can be more effective; some people also drink pineapple juice the day of and after their surgery (instead of just the days before). -i know i mentioned this already but DON'T DRINK OUT OF STRAWS FOR THE FIRST 2 WEEKS AFTER YOUR SURGERY! it can cause a dry socket. -my dentist told me to try to not spit too much even if excess saliva forms. he also told me that my mouth is very small lol so that's also why i could barely open it wide enough while i was eating. -the right side of my throat hurt quite a bit for about a week after my surgery. it was really painful for me to even swallow anything or even open my mouth for the first few days. -my mouth was super numb for the first day. i honestly could barely speak a single sentence without my mouth and jaw being in pain. it took me about 3 days to go back to talking regularly with everyone. -the easiest things for me to eat (that also caused the least amount of pain) were greek yogurt, salmon, apple sauce, congee, bananas (preferably a bit mashed), and ICE CREAM! nut butters and smoothies are good options as well, but they might be more difficult to swallow if they're thick. -it's really important that you eat enough on these days! my appetite was lower than usual on the first day, but the hunger caught up to me pretty much every day after that. -the first night after my wisdom teeth removal i woke up at 1 am in sooo much pain (i took a selfie of myself which is the top right corner of the thumbnail haha). i had chills, nausea, and my mouth was generally hurting a lot. i took my painkillers and then fell asleep. -i personally felt like the painkillers barely actually alleviated my pain; it just prevented the pain from getting any worse. -make sure you take your antibiotics to prevent any infections from possibly developing. -my gynecologist warned me that a yeast infection can possibly develop if females eat too much sugar while on antibiotics. but, i ate lots of ice cream every day and nothing happened to me. it's still something that i wanted to be somewhat mindful of though. -google says to refrain from exercising for like the first day after your surgery. i pretty much went back to doing normal day things on day 2 and my energy was a lot better. timestamps: 0:00 intro 2:24 adventures in flushing 5:15 wisdom teeth removal 5:58 getting more food again 7:30 first night 8:40 day 1 9:27 day 2 10:25 day 3 11:09 day 4 11:33 day 5 12:00 final thoughts and progress pictures
