Various of protesters blocking roads STORYLINE: Police arrested supporters of former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan, who were protesting on Friday after their leader was shot and wounded during a protest march the day before. Protests took place in various parts of the country, and in the southern port city of Karachi, where Pakistan's Prime Minister Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's allies are in power, hundreds of Khan’s supporters clashed with police. Officers used batons and fired tear gas to disperse them. Police also detained some demonstrators in Karachi, and near Islamabad. "We were protesting here peacefully," said Dua Zubair, a protester. "They started firing. They beat us with batons. They didn't even spare female protesters", she added. A senior leader from Khan's party confirmed that he is in stable condition.
