The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - The Rascal King

This was one of my favorite songs of 1997 and also my favorite song from the Boston-based ska punk band known as The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Love the arrangements used here--those horns are just awesome. There's also a great music video for this track that was filmed in black & white. "The Rascal King" went to #7 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart (formerly known as the Modern Rock Tracks chart) and also peaked at #68 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart; the song failed to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which makes it yet another of those singles that I thought deserved to be a bigger hit. from the album Let's Face It written by Dicky Barrett, Joe Gittleman, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones © copyright 1997 Big Rig Records, Mercury Records, Bosstones Music.
