2012 Edward Said Memorial Lecture "A Deliberate Cruelty: Rendering Gaza Unviable" with Dr. Sara Roy

Dr. Sara Roy, Senior Research Scholar in the Center for Middle East Studies at Harvard University is the 2012 Edward Said Memorial Lecture speaker at the Palestine Center. Her talk addresses the political developments of the last decade that have profoundly weakened Gaza and her people, distorting normal economic activity and severely diminishing the productive capacity of the workforce and society. These damaging transformations are becoming institutionalized, shaping a future that is both partial and disfigured. This lecture will examine some of the policies that have brought Gaza to its current state, focusing on their economic and social impact.
