Race in Racine: Ep. 1 "Singled out with guns drawn"
Racine, WI -- Racine was named the second-worst place for black people to live. But some in the community don't believe racism exists here. But it got me thinking, do we really know how people here experience this problem. It's so complex and interwoven into our community that people have become blind to it. So in this very first episode of Race in Racine, I spoke to Maurice Horton, a Racine Common Council member. Horton talks about the barriers to success for the black community. But he also talks about why programs meant to help people don't really take root and how some white people just "refuse to listen."
