(1) When Israel came out of Egypt, that is, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, (2) Then Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. (3) The sea saw it and fled, and the Jordan turned back. (4) The mountains skipped like rams. The hills skipped like lambs. (5) What ailed thee, O sea, that thou fleddest? (6) O mountains, what ailed thee, that thou skippedst like rams? (7) O earth, tremble at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob. (8) Who turneth the rock into a pool of water, and the flint into springs of water.
