Update: Gilbert murder suspect dies after standoff in Tempe
An hours-long standoff between a murder suspect and the police is over tonight. Gilbert detectives tracked down a weekend murder suspect to a Tempe motel where the standoff occurred. The suspect was shot after tear gas was deployed. It is unclear how he was shot. The suspect was pronounced dead at the hospital.
