Building the Church - Acts 2:37-47 "They continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." The word church evokes a wide variety of ideas among different people. There are some who think the church is a building, with walls and chairs. Other people think it is all about traditions, Sunday morning dressed in our best clothes, but the model church laid out in the book of Acts is none of those things. Instead we find four simple truths that all point back to Jesus! A church should take the time to study the Word of God, so people can learn about Jesus. It is a place where there must be fellowship, so that we can encourage one another in our walk with Jesus. The church should regularly have communion [breaking bread], so we never forget the sacrifice of Jesus. And last it is a place of prayer, because we should always be talking to Jesus! The amazing thing is that when the church simply focuses on Jesus, the Lord is the one who add daily those who are being saved - Acts 2:47
